- 1 pound lump crab meat
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gently pick through the crab meat to remove any shell fragments, taking care not to break up the lumps, and set aside.
Prepare the crab imperial sauce : In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, and lemon juice. Stir the mixture until well blended and smooth. Gently fold in the crab meat and bread crumbs, mixing carefully to maintain the large pieces of crab.
Transfer to Baking Dish: Lightly grease a casserole or baking dish and evenly spread the crab mixture into the dish. Smooth the top with a spatula or spoon to ensure even cooking.
Bake and Serve: Place your crab imperial recipe in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown and slightly bubbly. Once done, allow the Crab Imperial to cool slightly before serving.
